Union of Unemployed

I AM VOTING

Mark your calendars. On November 2nd, the politicians who delayed, diminished and denied help for the jobless must face thousands if not millions, of very angry voters.

The politicians hope we’ve forgotten how they added insults to injury, how the harmed our families, how they stole our future. But we haven’t. We won’t. And here’s why:

I AM VOTING with a vengeance on November 2nd. And I hope you will be, too. It’s our one chance to Bite Back!

Please forward this email to your contact lists. Let’s let everyone know why we’re voting on November 2nd.

I am voting against my party again this year (registered Republican). I can’t wait to say no to the party of no. Obstruction is no way of governing!

I am with aerospecial80. I also am registered as a Republican and I plan to vote NO to the party of NO as well. I have been unemployed since April 2009 and so has my wife. We are Senior citizens (I will be 60 in two months). Although we are in good health, and are service minded people, we are unable to find a job or get hired, and if offered one, it is for minimum wage with no benefits. We need health insurance! Factory work is out of the question in most cases due to heavy lifting or extreme heat, etc. But even so, we cannot even get these type of jobs offered. I know that with all of the jobs I have applied for that I am qualified to do, my age has been the limiting factor. We just seem to be in a canoe of life on a stream of limited job possibilities, floating with no paddle of hope towards the waterfalls of despair.

Most of us were busy workin’ while the corporations were going to the bank. We were busy getting them rich while we were just working to pay the bills. We kept this economy going. It’s time now to pay attention – to make these elected officials work for us – the union, the workers. There is no better use of our time while we are out of work than to become active and involved in the things that matter most. We are not just one person if we work together. Let’s get back to what UNION started as – a group of working class people who joined for common need and support.

To let this happen to so many AMERICAN’S is wrong in so many way’s ! Yes, I’m fired up beyond belief. I hope that bill s.3706 is’nt just another political ploy, just in time for the upcoming election. I have called member’s of both parties and told them as bluntly as I could (without cussing, which took a great deal of restraint for me !) Also, both of my senator’s, “that my vote will be hinged directly to this one bill being acted upon and, passed immediately” That’s as simple as I could put it for them. Hope they get it.

I have been following the unemployment issue and I am voting Democrat. I am so tired of seeing the Republicans filibuster any and everything to get the economy working again while they let Wall Street get richer and richer. I have also been working to get a tier 5 through. If a tier 5 does not go through I will be homeless the end of November. A friend of mine said to me that it seems a tier 5 would have to go through but at this point I’m just not sure.
