What Can We Do Now That Unemployment Insurance Has Been Extended?
Yesterday, the House of Representatives voted to restore extended unemployment benefits, and President Obama signed the measure into law. This may be the last extension though if Republicans are able to win back more seats in the mid-term elections, and continue their opposition. And, still, the 99ers are out of luck. (99ers are the jobless who have been unemployed for 100 weeks or longer receive no unemployment benefits.)
It’s critically important you make your voice heard. Let your elected officials know how you feel.
For those you you still receiving UI checks, ask your elected officials to … house and feed their families, pay their bills, basically…just try to survive, on what you receive.
Those of you still employed—know how fortunate you are and support the unemployed in this effort!
