Hi y’all- I have been unemployed going on 1.5 years, with minor temp jobs and charity jobs from friends and family. I am sick of this. I have 20+ years in graphics, but can’t even get a traffic flagger job. Where are the infrastructure jobs? I spent money I didn’t have to take a course for flagging and bought all the equipment, signed up with local flagging companies, search ODOT and County job sites… nada. YIKES!

Underemployed and barely surviving month to month. This is the tactic that saps any mass response for protests or revolution. I keep hoping enough people are unemployed long enough to get together with OWS or some such protest movement which in a weird way has become a sort of ”safety-net” as well as providing real hope for change, and a strong support group for economically traumatized protesters. I heard there are funding avenues to feed and provide sanitation for the larger protests in the US, (maybe globally). I will research this rumor more and post my findings.
I will never get over the anger I have for how the economy was tanked, and my house taken from me because of job losses, and my anger carries through to the rip-off wages and no-benefits job I am forced to work at just to survive. Nut I am one of the ”lucky” ones and found meager employment after only 3 years of daily job searching. woo-hoo.
